I’m sorry that this is probably me being incredibly slow, and this has probably already been mentioned and much more eloquently I might add, but shit needs to be said so here it is.
"I’ll come after you if you don’t."
I thought Reichenbach was the final proof that John loves Sherlock (Platonic or not), but I was wrong. THIS is it. He doesn’t get angry, get confused, he at first doesn’t even question how on earth she is alive, his first instinct is that Sherlock is in pain and there is a thing to stop it therefore that thing needs to happen now. There is no time for questions or games, because Sherlock is hurting and that hurts John, and John wants more than anything for that to stop.
I know some people ship Irene/Sherlock on an intellectual basis, but this right here is why I will only ever ship Johnlock, whether as a bromance or as a relationship. Because while all of John’s intellect tells him that Sherlock is annoying, selfish (HE DRUGGED HIM) and completely mad, his heart and his instinct only ever want to protect and save Sherlock Holmes.
Soz for the feels, I needed to get it out.
